Getting to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus

Find out more information about how you can travel to the Cambridge Biomedical Campus on public transport and using the Park and Ride services.

If you are planning to visit the NIHR Cambridge CRF, please follow the instructions below to find our facilities on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus.

Cambridge Clinical Research Centre (CCRC):

Each floor in the CCRC has its own dedicated space. Our facilities include:

CCRC Level 2: Interventional Investigation Unit
CCRC Level 3: Early Phase Trials Unit
CCRC Levels 4 & 6: Wellcome Metabolic Translational Research Facility
CCRC Level 5: Adult Clinical Research Facility

Find the CCRC on the Cambridge Biomedical Campus. The CCRC building is colour-coded purple on the direction signs. The CCRC main entrance is on Keith Day Road, next the Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre (ATC).

Please come through the main entrance sliding doors and the reception desk will be on your right.

Upon arrival, please check in with the receptionist who will take some details from you and then direct you to the right department for your visit.

Addenbrooke’s Centre for Clinical Investigation is where you will find the Clinical Investigation Ward (CIW) and Maternal and Child Health Clinical Research Facility (CRF).

From the Addenbrooke’s Hospital main entrance:

On entering Addenbrooke’s Hospital, from the main entrance (Level 2) turn right and go straight on until you reach the concourse. Turn left, go past The Body Shop and hairdressers on your left. At the crossroads to the main corridor (just through some doors) turn right into the corridor, then keep going straight on until you arrive at the lifts on your right. Take the lift or the stairs to Level 3 for the CIW and Level 5 for the CRF. On your right you will see some blue double doors and the name of the unit’s sign. Please press the buzzer and they will let you in to welcome you and check you in.

From the Addenbrooke’s Treatment Centre (ATC) entrance:

On entering the ATC (Level 2), turn left, towards the main corridor. Once on the main corridor, walk past the ‘Rosie Hospital ramp’ on the right and then GSK on the left. Then you will arrive at the lifts on your left. Take the lift or the stairs to Level 3 for the CIW and Level 5 for the CRF. On your right you will see some blue double doors and the name of the unit’s sign. Please press the buzzer and they will let you in to welcome you and check you in.

The Heart and Lung Research Institute Clinical Research Facility is located in the Heart and Lung Research Institute (HLRI), a brown building next to Royal Papworth Hospital. The main entrance to the HLRI is next to the small lake between the Hospital and the HLRI. On arrival, please report to the receptionist who will direct you to the Clinical Research Facility, which is on the ground floor.

The Wolfson Brain Imaging Centre (WBIC) is dedicated to bringing the latest imaging to both cognitive and clinical research.

You will find the WBIC at Addenbrooke’s hospital. At the mini-roundabout on Robinson Way, the WBIC is directly opposite the University Forvie Site.
