Hello and Welcome

This library is for research and public contributors to have access to in person and online resource library containing guides training materials and best practice for Patient and Public Involvement, Engagement, Participation and Inclusion.

We have produced a Powerpoint presentation on What Patient and Public Involvement, Engagement and Participation is like here at NIHR Cambridge Clinical Research Facility. This training was co produced by Caroline McMahon, CRF PPI Lead and Deepa Mistry, CRF Public Contributor

In addition, there are several online training opportunities locally, nationally, internationally and online which are open for researchers from all institutes, and listed below.

Live training

NIHR Biomedical Research Centre (BRC) Cambridge – Patient and Public Involvement Training  (Free for students and staff from the NIHR, NHS, UK universities, public sector institutions and registered charities based in the UK.) 

Online training and courses

Several organisations also have online training modules related to public involvement and engagement. Below are some of the training courses you can sign-up to and go at your own pace.

  • Research Inclusion: NIHR– INCLUDE – link to free course is about halfway down the page. You will need to create an Open Learn account to access the course, if you do not have access to to a NIHR account.
